BLIND SPOT

Synopsis “Titik Buta” (Blind Spot) is a short documentary film that unveils the reality of child abuse, a serious issue that often goes unnoticed or is misinterpreted as a form of discipline. The film seeks to open the public’s eyes to a social “blind spot”: a problem that is real and present, yet frequently ignored or normalized by society. Through a reflective and educational approach, the film encourages viewers to realize that what is often labeled as “strict parenting” within families, such as verbal abuse is, in fact, a form of violence against children. The film explores why this social blind spot remains invisible: because the issue is too common or familiar, does not directly affect those in power or the majority, and is often obscured by prevailing norms, cultural beliefs, or unconscious biases. “Titik Buta” is more than just a film it is a call to awareness, emotional reflection, and education. Through this work, audiences particularly caregivers and communities are encouraged to recognize patterns of violence that are often considered normal, to develop emotional intelligence, and to prioritize the well-being of children. This film invites us to confront what has long been overlooked and to take the first step toward meaningful change.
